I spent a nice day at the Google Developers Day 2008 in Airport City near Tel-Aviv. Apart from my interest in learning more about the latest Google based technologies and services and how they can help our company (which I did - thanks Google!), I also decided to spend the day exploring the experience in a large conference and how our current use case flows and feature set match a users needs in such an environment. It was a great opportunity to explore these issues in real life.

And guess what! I found some major points that we have not dealt with in our product planning. This was not surprising, as any product test will always generate more from real world tests than in academic laboratory testing. Yes- you get a lot of noisy data, but in the noise you can find important issues that can not be found in the sterile lab setting. For competitive reasons I will not list these here for now, but I promise to discuss them when our product has launched.
